After listening to Jesus’ story about “The Master and the Servants” or “The Parable of the Talents” what do you think he was trying to tell his audience (and us) about what life in his kingdom is like?
That we are each responsible for the “talents” or the resources God has given us.
If we are responsible, God will reward us. If we are not, then God will punish us.
It seems simple, doesn’t it? I think sometimes we tend to make it more complicated that it really is. And maybe we try to sugarcoat it because in Jesus’ story, the servant who wasn’t faithful was thrown into outer darkness where there was (or is) weeping and gnashing of teeth.
